Project: Copper Beech Close
Client: Simon
Project Type:
Ground floor renovation, and internal layout reconfiguration
Location:
Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Testimonial: Fernanda came up with a variety of creative designs when we were planning our home renovations which we really appreciated. She was also able to provide us with the construction drawings to provide to our builder so covered both the artistic as well as technical aspects of the project. - Simon
Project Goals
Our clients wanted to make better use of their ground floor, which had a very large hallway and disconnected rooms. With teenagers at home and a love for hosting, they were after a more open, sociable layout—a space that felt welcoming and worked better for everyday family life.
Design Solutions
- Smarter Layout
We reconfigured the internal layout, reducing the oversized hallway and removing partition walls to improve flow. This gave us more space to work with and made the ground floor feel much more balanced. - Open-Plan Living
We created a modern open-plan kitchen and living area that’s perfect for cooking, relaxing, and spending time together. It’s now the heart of the home, ideal for both family life and entertaining guests. - Connection and Light
The kitchen now connects to a beautiful dining room, and new bifold doors open out to the garden—flooding the space with light and creating a lovely indoor-outdoor feel.
Outcome
The ground floor has been completely transformed. It now feels open, bright, and much more in tune with how the family lives. The new layout brings people together and makes the most of every inch of space—exactly what this growing family needed.
