The client wanted to transform a dated one-bedroom flat into a modern, functional home for a young couple. The key goals of the project included:

1. Maximizing Living Space: Combine the kitchen and living room into a single, open-plan area to create a sense of spaciousness.
2. Modernizing the Interior: Undertake a complete strip-out and refurbishment to elevate the flat to a high standard with premium finishes.
3. Enhancing Atmosphere: Design a space with thoughtful details, such as mood-enhancing lighting and cozy textures, to make the flat feel warm and inviting.

Design Solutions

1. Open-Plan Layout: By removing the partition between the kitchen and living room, we created a bright and airy open-plan living space. This reconfiguration not only made the flat feel larger but also fostered a seamless flow between cooking, dining, and relaxing areas.
2. Refined Finishes: We installed an oak wooden floor throughout the flat to add warmth and elegance. The bedroom was given a dreamy ambiance with carefully selected wallpaper, while the new kitchen featured clever, space-saving units to maximize functionality.
3. Flexible Lighting Design: A complete lighting layout was implemented, incorporating features that allow the occupants to adjust the ambiance. This versatility gives the illusion of distinct spaces within the small flat, enabling the couple to shift the mood for dining, entertaining, or relaxing.
